Kasey Chambers' fifth solo album, Little Bird, is the singer/songwriter's most optimistic and confident album to date.
Having just announced that she wouldn't be doing an album for at least another year, Kasey was under no pressure to write or produce any songs. But then, almost immediately, 14 stunning songs came rushing out, all within a few weeks. It was the most intense, creative outpouring the artist had ever experienced. "This album certainly took me by surprise, but I didn't question where these songs came from; they just arrived," Kasey said. "When the songs are that fresh, there's something magical about taking them into the studio and bringing them to life, right then and there." And that's exactly what she and her brother and manager, Nash, did.
Within a month, the recordings were completed, using an all-star band and a dazzling line-up of guest vocalists, including Missy Higgins and Patty Griffin.
