Artist:
Luke Austen
Get to know country music's newest rising star – Luke Austen, the winner of the 2010 Toyota Starmaker; the Australian talent search that launched the careers of Keith Urban, Lee Kernaghan and Samantha McClymont.
But Luke is no blow in. He toured with country music icon Brian Young for four years, and has been a mainstay of Troy Cassar-Daley's band since 2004.
Produced by Graham Thompson (Adam Brand, The Sunny Cowgirls), Light Of Day is a confident, personable debut. Nine of the 12 songs on the album were written by Luke and his various writing partners, including Cassar-Daley, Adam Harvey and Vaughan Jones. The stories are broad in content. They range from the joys of first-time fatherhood on She’s So You to touring on Every Time He Travels Through Cloncurry, and choosing between a girl and a car on HQ454 Monroe. Sacred Bones is another standout track, which features Cassar-Daley on harmony vocals and mandolin.
