Irish folk music's biggest box office attractions celebrate an extraordinary 45 years of making music together.
Having sold out venues during their 2009 tour of Ireland – where their record sales have out-gunned even U2's – Europe and the USA, in early 2010 the Wolfe Tones made their first visit to Australia in more than two decades. Sadly, the band have declared that this was also their final tour Down Under, but this CD featuring their greatest music will surely help fill the gap.
Expressing their passion for their home country, Greatest Hits sends a powerful reminder of the influence of the rebel group, about which Oasis' Noel Gallagher once said, "Some of my earliest memories are hearing my mum playing the Wolfe Tones. Who knows, that may have turned me on to music ... "
