Biography:
Smooth crooner Michael Bublé is a classy cocktail of old Hollywood glamour, charm and timeless tunes.
Michael was born on the 9th of September, 1975, in Canada. He grew up with two passions: music and ice hockey. But singing was his lifelong dream – he says that during his teenage years, he would sleep with his bible and pray to be a singer.
His grandfather can be credited with shaping the Michael we know and love today – he influenced a young Michael with his old jazz records. He also helped Michael land gigs and even paid for his singing lessons.
Michael’s dream took a few years to come true. Between the ages of 14 and 20, he spent a few Summer months each year accompanying his father on jobs, working as a commercial fisherman.
Michael’s career languished for a few years until, through some chance meetings, he met the man who would enable his dreams: David Foster, a producer and record executive who had several Grammys under his belt.
Finally, at age 28, Michael released his self-titled debut album. It featured classics like Fever, The Way You Look Tonight and Moondance, setting the mood for the rest of his career.
Second studio album, It’s Time, featured an original song co-written by Michael called Home. Call Me Irresponsible, his third studio album, was the bestselling album of 2007 in Australia.
Studio album number four, Crazy Love, was spearheaded by single Haven't Met You Yet, which was co-written by Michael for his fiancée.
Despite his skyrocketing career as a singer, Michael was eventually able to indulge in his love of ice hockey by becoming a co-owner of his favourite team, the Vancouver Giants.
