Biography:
Di Morrissey is one of Australia's most popular female novelists. She grew up in the remote surrounds of Pittwater, north of Sydney.
Some of Di’s most famous books include: The Reef, The Valley, Barra Creek, Follow The Morning Star, The Islands, Monsoon and The Plantation (2010). Her books are dramatic and romantic, appealing to a predominantly female audience.
The Plantation, Di’s 18th bestseller, is set in Malaysia and revolves around an Australian woman exploring her family’s legacy.
On her website, Di said, “Initially my books were all about Australians living in Australia, but I realised that Australians had made their mark in other parts of the world, and so I began to set my stories in more exotic overseas locations where Australians live and work.”
In the past, Di has been employed as a journalist and also spent seven years working for Good Morning Australia, which was Australia’s first current affairs breakfast TV show.
Di is the mother of Dr Gabrielle Morrissey, a well-known sexologist who has authored several books and writes regular columns in The Sunday Telegraph.

In 1970, Di had a small guest role in the original Hawaii Five-0 TV series.
