On 22 April 1995, at a refugee camp in Kibeho, Rwanda, over 4000 unarmed men, women and children died in a hail of bullets, grenades and machetes at the hands of the Rwandan Patriotic Army. This massacre was witnessed by Australian UN peacekeepers, some of whom give their first-hand accounts in this book.
In Pure Massacre, Kevin O’Halloran, an Australian Platoon Sergeant who witnessed the massacre, draws from his own experiences and interviews the others who served with him. Graphic full-colour photos accompany this story.
Pure Massacre also contains a foreword by Major General Guy Tousignant, United Nations Force Commander, UNAMIR II, who calls it an “account of an outstanding soldier”.
