Follow Oakie, a fearless Blue Heeler puppy, as he relives the outback adventures depicted in Banjo Paterson’s best-known poems, Waltzing Matilda and The Man From Snowy River.
Oakie was supposed to be delivered to Texas, USA, but due to a courier’s mistake, he ends up in Texas, Queensland in outback Australia. Oakie is quickly befriended by outback daredevil Action Dann, who tells his new friend the tale of the jolly swagman and his stolen jumbuck (from the poem Waltzing Matilda). He also discusses the legend of the man from Snowy River.
Oakie appeared in the animated film Oakie’s Outback Adventures, which featured the voices of actor Jack Thompson and singer Kate Ceberano.
