Timothy W. Ryback

For more than 50 years, the remnants of Adolf Hitler’s private library have been under lock and key. But now author Timothy W. Ryback explores these intriguing resources.
Hitler was better known for burning books rather than collecting them, yet by his death at age 56, he owned an estimated 16,000 volumes, the works of historians, philosophers, poets, playwrights and novelists.
The volumes in Hitler’s private library are interesting in themselves, but it is the marginalia – the comments, exclamation marks, questions, underlining and even dirty thumbprints – which are so revealing.
Utterly compelling, this unique history book is an important landmark in our understanding of the Third Reich.

A very insightful and engaging book on the volumes of books that had, in one way or another, shaped and impacted upon the Fuhrer's thinking and outlook on the world. Highly recommended to any reader interested in WWII and/or famous personalities in history.
