Biography:
Known internationally as the King of Horror, Stephen King is one of the most prolific fiction authors in the world, with almost as many movies as books under his belt.

He is the author of numerous modern classics such as Carrie, The Shining and Misery, many of which have been adapted into feature films. The Shawshank Redemption was also based on one of his novellas.

Despite being involved in a car accident in 1999, which left him with serious injuries, King has continued to thrill readers with his tales of the strange and supernatural, including more recent hits Full Dark No Stars, Under The Dome, Lisey's Story and Duma Key.

An American author who was born in 1947, Stephen has written seven books under the pen name Richard Bachman, including Blaze, which was released in 2007. Before Stephen rose to fame as a writer, he was a high school English teacher.

His son, Joe Hill, is also a talented writer, who does not use his surname (‘King’) when writing as he likes to write on his own merits. Joe appeared in the Creepshow film, which was released in 1982.
